Soldering looks small until you count the hours. Operators sit inches from the iron, breathing rosin smoke, ultrafine particulate, and whatever VOC profile the flux carries. On a high-mix electronics bench or a medical device PCB line, those fumes settle on the boards themselves and contaminate sensitive components long before they trigger anyone's headache. Generic shop extractors are usually too loud, too big, or sized for far more airflow than a soldering iron actually generates.
